If you are listed as a co-owner of a dataset, you can submit a claim directly from the dataset page. The claim process allows co-owners and data subjects to report concerns, request corrections, or temporarily pause public access while the dataset is reviewed. This feature helps ensure that published datasets remain accurate, compliant, and properly managed by all authorized contributors.

Claim Options

When submitting a claim, select the option that best matches your request:

1. Object to Dataset or File Deletion

“I am a co-owner and I object to the deletion of this dataset or its files.” Choose this option if you believe the dataset or attached files should not be removed from the platform. This is typically used when a deletion request was made without full co-owner approval or when important data may be lost.

2. Object to Dataset Changes or Corrections

“I am a co-owner and I object to changes, replacements, or corrections made to the data or files.” Select this option if you disagree with recent modifications made to the dataset, including:
  • File replacements
  • Data corrections
  • Metadata edits
  • Structural changes to the dataset
This option allows co-owners to review and verify modifications before they become publicly available.

3. Request Removal or Correction of Personal Data

“I am a data subject and I request removal or correction of my personal data.” Use this option if the dataset contains your personal information and you want to:
  • Request data removal
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Report privacy or compliance concerns
This process supports data protection and privacy compliance requirements.

What Happens After a Dataset Is Claimed

When a dataset claim is submitted, the platform automatically starts a verification and approval workflow to protect the integrity of the dataset and ensure that all co-owners are informed. During this process:
  • Public access to the dataset is temporarily paused.
  • The dataset enters a review and verification stage.
  • All registered co-owners are notified of the claim.
  • Platform administrators review the request and coordinate the approval process.
  • The dataset remains unavailable to the public until the review is completed.
Once all required approvals and verifications are finalized, the dataset will either:
  • Be republished with approved updates, or
  • Remain restricted until outstanding issues are resolved.

Important Notes

  • Only registered dataset co-owners can submit ownership-related claims.
  • Claims are logged and tracked for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Administrators may request additional information or supporting documentation during the review process.
  • Repeated or invalid claims may be subject to administrative review.
