The Trend Management page allows users to review and manage relationships between survey questions that have been identified as part of a trend. This feature helps users analyze how similar questions are grouped across datasets and manage trend associations efficiently.

Accessing Trend Management

To access the Trend Management page:
  1. Navigate to any trended question within the platform.
  2. Click on the question you want to review.
  3. You will be redirected to the Trend Management page for that specific question.
This page provides a centralized view of all trend relationships connected to the selected question.

Viewing Trend Information

Once you open the Trend Management page, you will be able to view:
  • The selected question that you clicked on.
  • A list of all related trended questions associated with the selected question.
  • Similarity scores used to determine how questions are connected within the trend group.
This allows you to understand how the platform has grouped similar questions across surveys and datasets.

Filtering Trend Results

To help narrow down results and make analysis more efficient, the page provides several filtering options. You can apply one or multiple filters to refine the displayed trend relationships.

Available Filters

1. Question Similarity

Filters results based on similarity between question wording and structure.
  • Displays questions with 50% similarity or higher.
Use this filter when you want to compare questions that are phrased similarly.

2. Response Similarity

Filters results based on similarity in response patterns and answer distributions.
  • Displays questions with 30% similarity or higher.
This filter is useful when identifying questions that produce similar respondent behavior, even when wording differs.

3. Weighted Similarity

Filters results using a combined scoring model that considers multiple similarity factors.
  • Displays questions with 43% similarity or higher.
This provides a more balanced comparison by combining both question structure and response behavior.

4. Topics

Filters questions based on assigned topic categories. This allows you to focus only on questions that belong to specific subject areas or themes. Example use cases:
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Brand awareness
  • Product feedback
  • Purchase behavior

5. Survey Collection Years

Filters trend results based on the year in which survey data was collected. This is useful when analyzing how trends change over time or comparing historical datasets. Examples:
  • Compare survey responses across multiple years
  • Analyze long-term changes in customer behavior
  • Review data from a specific time period

6. Show Survey Questions for My Organization

This filter limits results to survey questions that belong only to datasets owned by your organization. Use this option when you want to focus exclusively on internal organizational data and exclude external datasets. Trend relationships can only be modified by users who have the appropriate dataset permissions. You can edit a trend only if you have access rights to the organization that owns the dataset associated with that trend. If you do not have the required permissions:
  • The trend will remain visible for review.
  • Editing functionality will be disabled.
This permission model helps maintain data ownership boundaries and ensures that only authorized users can modify trend relationships.

Typical Use Cases

The Trend Management feature is commonly used for:
  • Identifying similar survey questions across multiple datasets
  • Comparing historical survey trends over time
  • Managing relationships between related survey questions
  • Reviewing automatically detected trend associations
  • Restricting analysis to organization-specific datasets
This feature helps maintain consistency in longitudinal analysis and improves the accuracy of cross-survey trend comparisons across your organization’s data ecosystem.
